Configuring the monitor port for a local mirroring group
CAUTION:
Do not enable the spanning tree feature on the monitor port.
Either you can configure the monitor port for a mirroring group in system view, or you can assign the
current port to a mirroring group as the monitor port in interface view. The two modes lead to the same
result.
Configuration restrictions and guidelines
• A mirroring group contains only one monitor port.
• H3C recommends that you use a monitor port for port mirroring only. This is to make sure that the
data monitoring device receives and analyzes only the mirrored traffic rather than a mix of mirrored
traffic and normally forwarded traffic.
• You cannot configure the monitor port in a mirroring group as a port in an RRPP ring.
